Surrounded by ancient olive trees, Masseria Borzone is a 16th century fortified farmhouse, a complex of traditional stone trullis, set within the Italian region of Puglia. Rich in history and overgrown by nature, these buildings were canvases waiting to be renovated back to their former glory.

We wanted to create an interior that felt as if it had always been there, a natural space reflective of traditional building techniques & local materials. We were also mindful, that as a working farm, the space needed to compliment its surroundings, paying homage to its rural home. We worked to layer textures that felt laidback, but elegant, adding one-off antiques & locally sourced furniture, mixed in with modern & handcrafted pieces.

The project was approached with a meticulous level of care and detail, led by architect, Flore Venezie, alongside Lebanese-based lighting specialists PS Lab, and landscape designer Rosie Bines. We all collaborated to breathe life back into the buildings, celebrating the beauty of Italian country living.
